The Daily.ky Planning Applications Map tracks every application on the Central Planning Authority’s public agendas from January 2025 onward, parsed daily from the CPA’s own agenda and minutes PDFs on planning.ky and pinned to street-level locations from public road data. Currently tracked: 932 applications, 661 approved, 26 refused, 190 adjourned and 50 awaiting a decision; the trailing-12-month approval rate is 96%. The latest agenda, for 2026-09-16, carries 24 applications awaiting decisions, with an estimated construction value of CI$19,731,888. The next meeting is expected around 2026-09-30, with the agenda usually published about a week ahead. Each application shows what is proposed, where, the estimated cost, the zoning, whether neighbours objected, the planning department’s recommendation, and the Authority’s decision with its conditions.
Method: applications are parsed from the published PDFs and joined by planning reference across agendas and minutes; statuses follow the Authority’s own resolution language (grant, refuse, adjourn, modify, withdraw). Locations are approximate, street level at best, because parcel boundaries are not public data; each pin declares its precision. Applicant names appear exactly as printed in the public agenda; the map deliberately offers no search by applicant name, and removal requests are honoured (contact info@daily.ky quoting the planning reference). Where does the planning applications data come from?
From the Central Planning Authority's own published agendas and minutes on planning.ky, collected and parsed every morning. Agendas list what is being applied for, where, and at what estimated cost; minutes record what the Authority decided. Every application card links to the source PDF.
Why is the pin not on the exact parcel?
Parcel boundary data is not public in the Cayman Islands, so pins are placed from the agenda's own location line using public road and district data: to a street or junction where one is named, or to the registration section otherwise. Each pin says which. Dashed pins are section-level approximations.
What do approved with conditions, adjourned and refused mean?
Approved means planning permission was granted, almost always subject to numbered conditions such as permits and completion certificates; the card shows how many. Refused means permission was denied for stated reasons. Adjourned means the Authority deferred the decision, often to request revised plans or a meeting with the applicant; the application returns on a later agenda.
How do I object to a planning application?
Neighbouring landowners within the notification radius are notified directly by the Department of Planning and can lodge objections within the stated window. If you believe you should have been notified about an application near you, contact the Department of Planning (planning.ky) quoting the planning reference shown on the card.
Can I get alerts for planning applications in my district?
Not yet. District alerts are planned once the daily collection has run reliably for a while. The map's district filter and the fortnightly meeting summaries cover the same ground in the meantime.
