Food trucks in Grand Cayman: map and hours

Each truck's regular spot, checked against its own Instagram or website, plus the ones that have closed.

The short answer

  • Most trucks keep a usual spot. Some drive off overnight to restock or prep and come back the next day. Some will move for various events. Instagram or Facebook is usually the best way to find out.
  • Three clusters: central George Town, including the Farmers Market on Huldah Avenue; the North Church Street lot by the CashWiz car park, near Arbutus Galley; and West Bay Road along Seven Mile Beach.
  • The Taco Yard closed for good on Saturday 31 October. A food truck park, The Yard in Prospect, is approved but has no opening date.

The Yard, a food truck park in Prospect

The Yard is planned as Cayman's first food truck park, next to Tim Hortons at Shamrock Road and Hurley Merren Boulevard. The Cayman Compass reported in July 2025 that planning permission was sought for up to 12 trucks, and later that it was approved; its builder, Cayman Structural Group, also says it has been approved. It isn't open yet and no opening date has been announced. The park's website is taking vendor applications and says trucks will get power, propane, grey water and internet on site.

Rules for running a food truck

  • Approval first. Every food business needs approval from the Department of Environmental Health (DEH) before it opens, and a Trade and Business licence. DEH's application form has tick boxes for a "Mobile Food Vehicle" and an "Itinerant Food Vendor".
  • No home kitchens. The form says a domestic kitchen can't be used for a commercial food business.
  • Training. DEH asks whether food handlers have its Basic Food Hygiene Certificate from the last three years.
  • On board. DEH's guidelines for itinerant food facilities call for hot and cold running water at a hand basin, a three-compartment sink for utensils, perishables kept at 40°F or below, and staff who don't handle money while preparing food.
  • Inspections. DEH inspects mobile food vendors; how often depends on the food and the truck's record.

Methodology and sources

Each truck's spot, days, hours and prices come from its own Instagram account, website or Google listing, or from its reply to our questions. Only trucks that confirmed their spot and hours, or posted them in the previous 60 days, are on the map. Map pins come from Google Maps: the truck's own listing, its street address, or the market or venue it trades at.

Rules: the Department of Environmental Health's food safety page, its application form for a new food business (September 2025) and its guidelines for temporary and itinerant food facilities (DEH publications). The Yard: theyard.ky and Cayman Structural Group. Spotted a truck we've missed, or one that has moved? Email info@daily.ky.
